Think cool kids furniture and amazingly stylish accessories!
Located on the site of the old Guildford Fire Station, the store just snuck in before the year end to become the second new Barker and Stonehouse showroom to open in 2017, following Hove on the south coast. Alongside the Battersea branch in London, Guildford is the third to open in the south as the company strengthens its nationwide coverage with a total of 11 stores across the UK.![]()

Naturally, being a Barker and Stonehouse store, brands play a big part in the story. This time around, old favourites, such as Ercol, Vispring and Timothy Oulton appear alongside debutants such as UK-based Huutt and Swiss wooden furniture makers Yask.
With so much to see, we’ve made it even easier to navigate and explore using the latest technology. Two state-of-the-art 82-inch interactive digital screens are on hand to tell you all about what’s in-store, whilst two totems provide web access so you can shop the entire Barker and Stonehouse collection in-store if the fancy takes you.
As with all our stores, we’re keen on keeping things green wherever we can. A living wall on the exterior of the building makes a perfect haven for flora, fauna and wildlife. Inside, energy saving lighting and thermal insulation continue the green theme.![]()
Eco-aware customers will also be delighted to find a rich mix of furniture made from reclaimed wood within the store. As the UK’s largest retailer of reclaimed wooden furniture – with over 35% of our dining and bedroom ranges made that way – there’s no better place to appreciate the unique beauty of wood that’s been re-imagined and repurposed by skilled craftsmen.![]()
Amidst all the excitement in our new Guildford store, you may want to take a little time out to relax and take it easy in your own oasis of clam. Our onsite cafe, The Queensbury, offers the ideal destination for lovers of speciality teas and coffee, freshly-baked bread, pastries, cakes and sandwiches, all served in a chic and cheerful setting.
Whilst the store represents the very latest addition to the Barker and Stonehouse network, the company’s proud 71 year heritage still features strongly. In fact, you can see the original motorbike ridden by founder Charles Barker way back in 1931 in the Scottish Six Days Reliability Motorcycle Trial restored to all its former glory.

We’re giving Guildford a great Christmas present this year – a brand new Barker and Stonehouse store! The countdown came to an end on December 16th as the doors on our new Guildford store opened the latest chapter in the Barker and Stonehouse story.
